Writing
The Writing Center at https://students.dts.edu/services/writing/ provides documentation and personal assistance with all aspects of academic writing. The library no longer provides provides help with academic writing style.
Style Guides
- Most papers at DTS should conform to the format detailed in the DTS Academic Style Guide (DASG). It has replaced Turabian at DTS.
- Chicago Manual of Style is used by many publishers in the humanities. It is the basis for DTS Academic Style Guide. CMS can be used for issues not addressed in DASG. Note it is available online.
- The SBL Handbook of Style is based on CMS and it can be used for issues not addressed in DASG. It provides good guidance for citation of primary sources, for example. Note it is available online.
Templates
The library no longer maintains templates. The Writing Center has taken over that responsibility. See https://students.dts.edu/services/writing/#templates.
Citation Software and Miscellaneous Tips
