Turpin Library is wheelchair friendly. There is a power assisted front door. Elevators provide access to all floors although use of the Mosher basement elevator requires a special key. Bookstacks aisles are wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair, but upper shelves cannot be reached by a person sitting in a wheelchair. The library has equipment to project enlarged page images, but we do not have a reading machine for the blind. We have Greek and Hebrew Braille Bibles and thousands of audio tapes on many topics. We have a public phone with TDD functionality for the hearing impaired. Physically impaired DTS students may apply for a personal carrel as described on the DTS student page.
At your request, Library staff will assist as circumstances require. For example, we will search the catalog for you, recommend books or other materials, retrieve material from the stacks, and make photocopies. We will provide more assistance for students than for visitors. DTS students should contact the Student Services department of the seminary for information about additional assistance.
